Heart Felt Event

Hi Stampers

Today I have the last project that I created for the Heart Felt Event in Auckland that was held in September. I had so much fun playing and the day was a great display of goodies to play with and inspiration.

This final project was playing with the Satin ribbon and heating with the Heat Tool to make it curl. I played with some retired ribbon and after a couple of attempts got it the way I wanted. Again I used an oven tray when using the Heat Tool on the ribbon.

creativeaddinktionheattoolribbon1

Once I knew what I was doing I tried it on the ‘Striped Satin Ribbon’ from the Holiday Catalogue on page 26 and I really like the effect it gave.

creativeaddinktionheattoolribbon2

So there you have it, maybe nothing new to you but a great reminder of some of the techniques that you can do using the Heat Tool.

Heart Felt Event – Heat Tool

Hi Stampers

First up I have the ‘Emboss Resist’ technique on a scrapbook page. So Scrapbooking is one of those projects that I ‘really should do more of, you know make the time and just do it’ but alas I’m still no further along. So I don’t do scrapbooking very well at all.

creativeaddinktionheattoolscrap1 creativeaddinktionheattoolscrap2

Next up was the ‘Necklace’ made from washers that were covered in Designer Series Paper ‘Be of Good Cheer’ then covered with VersaMark before being covered with ‘Iridescent Ice’ Emboss powder. These washers get super HOT when heated so I did them on an oven tray with a sheet of Baking Paper on it.

creativeaddinktionheattoolneck1

I did both sides of the washers

creativeaddinktionheattoolneck2

Next up was a little note card – I love creating these, using the ‘Emboss resist technique’ again.

creativeaddinktionheattoolnote1

For this next card I mixed Gumball Green and Silver embossing powder together. In real life, lol, you can see both colours coming through – gives an interesting effect. I mixed equal parts of Embossing Powder together.

Tomorrow I will have my final samples to show you.

Heat Felt Event – Heat Tool

Hi Stampers

The ‘Scented Emboss Powder’ was available to play with and by now you probably have as well. So these following projects were all about the scent which you won’t get through the screen here, lol, but I’m sure you get the idea.

These two were scented with the ‘Sugar and Spice’

creativeaddinktionheattoolscented1creativeaddinktionheattoolscented2

These next two were scented with the ‘Peppermint Sticks’.

creativeaddinktionheattoolscented3

creativeaddinktionheattoolscented4

So the ‘Peppermint Sticks’ scented Emboss Powder has some quality issues right now and if you are unsatisfied with your purchase of the Peppermint Sticks Scented Embossing powder then please contact your demonstrator for a refund or to exchange it for a different scented Stampin’ Emboss powder.

Heart Felt Event – Heat Tool

Hi Stampers

Next up we have the ‘Double Embossing’ technique. Start by dry embossing your cardstock and then, here, the raised image was brayered over with VersaMark (or you can use the VersaMark direct to raised image), sprinkled on Emboss powder of your choice, on this card it was Iridescent Ice, heat set with the Heat Tool and you are done. This card is from page 7 of the Holiday Catalogue, well my version of it made with the product that I had available.

and here is a slightly different version.

Heart Felt Event – Heat Tool

Hi Stampers

This card was the Faux Tiling technique that shows the tiling effect both horizontal and vertical.

creativeaddinktionheattooltile

Next was the cracked glass technique

creativeaddinktionheattoolcracked

I also made this banner so that other colours of Emboss powder were available to see and it came in really useful comparing the Silver with the New ‘Pewter’ Emboss powder that we got to play with on the day

creativeaddinktionheattoolbanner

These were the only colours that I had - so not all of the colours available are here. Check out page 159 of the current Annual catalogue.

Heart Felt Event – Heat Tool

Hi Stampers

So this next technique is my new favourite – Sinking Emboss Powder.

Stamp your image onto cardstock, cover in VersaMark (102283) and Clear Emboss powder(109130)then Heat set with the Heat Tool, repeat for 5 layers, next stamp a smaller image in VersaMark onto the set Clear Embossing and sprinkle with Cherry Cobbler Emboss powder (122949) and heat so that it just starts to sinks into the clear layers of embossing. Be sure not to over heat the smaller image. Love it!

creativeaddinktionheattool 16 creativeaddinktionheattool17

Of course you can play round with the colours that you use.

Heart Felt Event-Heat Tool

Hi Stampers

Heat and stick powder and Dazzling Diamonds is an effective technique, always seems to get the wow factor.

I generally find that using Heat and Stick Powder is best on the larger projects but most definitely not limited to larger projects.

I started with stamping my image onto cardstock then cover the entire piece with VersaMark (102283), then cover with Heat and Stick Powder(100625)and heat set with the Heat tool so that it is sticky, you will see the change as it heats, then cover with Dazzling Diamonds(102023). Check out page 158 of the Annual Catalogue for both Dazzling Diamonds and Heat and Stick powder.

 creativeaddinktionheattool15

On this card I also curled the ribbon using the Heat Tool. I wrapped the ribbon round a piece of dowel (or a pencil) using Glue Dots (103683) on the ribbon to adhere it to the dowel. Then heated the ribbon with the Heat Tool turning the dowel so as the ribbon did not melt. The ribbon here is the Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon (126848)

 creativeaddinktionheattool16

I only ever use Glue Dots to adhere ribbon to cards. I find they work every time.

Heart Felt Event - Heat Tool

Hi Stampers

My next project is Heat Embossing on ‘Window sheets’. The tip here is to keep the Heat Tool moving so as the window sheet (114323) doesn’t get to hot and melt. creativeaddinktionheattool7 creativeaddinktionheattool8 creativeaddinktionheattool9

So I first stamped the image with Stazon (101406) and then used the Embossing Buddy(103083) before stamping over the Stazon image with versa mark ink(102283) and covered in Silver Emboss Powder (109131). After heating the powder I then cut the image out and hung it in the window of this card

 creativeaddinktionheattool12

Here is another version of the technique however I fixed this one to be a window card, here is the front

creativeaddinktionheattool10 creativeaddinktionheattool11 This view is when the card is opened up. The centre of the rosette was Clear Embossed (109130). The Designer Series paper is the ‘Be of Good cheer' (126896). Check out page 159 of the Annual Catalogue for more Heat Tool products to help you create the prefect project.

Stamp Club Challenge

Hi Stampers

Wow what a busy time it has been, I have been busy and working! So I have some projects to blog and tonight I’m starting with my Stamp Club challenge. Every month the Hostess of the Stamp Club sets a challenge and it is up to the group to decide if they want to participate. This month the challenge set was to do something using using ‘punches’ and here are cards

            creativeaddinktionwendy1

creativeaddinktionwendy2    creativeaddinktionwendy3 creativeaddinktionwendy4

So these four cards were created by Wendy, Wendy confessed that these were out of her stash of standby cards

creativeaddinktionsusan09

Susan’s card doubled as the challenge card and the thank you cards from the birth of her second son Adam

creativeaddinktionTania09

I remembered when Tania first created this card a while back now, came in very handy for the challenge

creativeaddinktionstephanie09

This little card was by Stephanie

 creativeaddinktionDiana09

Diana is our resident sewer and she did a fab job on this heart card

creativeaddinktionRaylee09

creativeaddinktionraylee209

These two cards are by Raylee and the photo below shows a close up of the detail on the card

creativeaddinktionraylee1a09

And this card below used a punch in another way

creativeaddinktioncherie09 It uses the Ornament punch to create a label to fit the words. A handy idea when nothing else will fit.

So there you have it for another stamp club challenge month

Triple time stamping

Hi Stampers

I have made several cards this month as August is a busy month for our family. All the cards that have gone out from this house have been using the triple time stamping technique.

  creativeaddinktionaug3

Riding Hood Red and Field flowers are always a good combination

creativeaddinktionaug4

Basic Black and Wild Wasabi is so the colours of my sisters wardrobe, this card is so her, it has just a bit of bling as well:)

 creativeaddinktionaug5

This is the front of my niece’s card, two she was. There was a first version of this card for Jorja but no photo as I finished it with just seconds left before we went to the party

creativeaddinktionaug6

And the inside was a pop-up, the colours came from the little fairies mobile that were her gift.

Just one  week left of the retirement list

Happy 40th

Hi stampers

Today is my DH’s birthday. The big ‘4’ ‘0’ today. Last night we had the party to help celebrate the special event. Here is the card that I made special – just for him.

creativeaddinktion40acreativeaddinktion40b I had seen this type of card done before with the top or the bottom but when I looked into it further for ideas and inspiration I found that you could do both on the one card, tops one side and bottoms the other. Of course why wouldn’t you, lol………

creativeaddinktion40c

Sometimes it is the most obvious and the most simple that step up and slap you in the face (so to speak) and you think ‘of course’

The DSP is Twitterpated with Riding Hood Ribbon (retired) a paper flower and a brad – all for a man’s card – who would have thought, lol :)

Anyway, Happy 40th to all those who turn ‘40’ today.
