Party Time

Hi Stampers

My 10 year old had his birthday this month, I kept his invites very easy as I left it to the last minute to do – it has been a very busy month for me.

My go to stamp set for anything ‘boy’ is of cause ‘Need for Speed’, this has been a very versatile set.

Stamp Club Challenge for July

Hi Stampers

This months challenge was set by Wendy and she decided that the challenge will be a card for a teenage boy. As Wendy was in the process of moving into her new house she had no time to make a card herself. hopefully she got inspiration from these.

This was created by ‘Stephanie’

 creativeaddinktionscjuly2

This card here was by ‘Jo’ – an i pod card, how cool is that

creativeaddinktionscjuly3creativeaddinktionscjuly4

These two were by Alayne – when creating these she was thinking congratulations getting your drivers licence – she has now the perfect excuse to purchase another stamp set – she realised that she doesn’t have the word ‘Congratulations’ in a stamp.

creativeaddinktionjulysc5

Colleen was inspired by a card she saw in the Stampin Up Idea and Catalogue book

This card here I had made a week earlier as my DH’s nephew has been with us for a few months now and we celebrated his 17th birthday. For the background, I use the brayer over the embossed image.

Card for boys

Hi Stampers

Here are a couple of cards that I did a few months back for birthdays and as I have 3 boys then mostly I am doing boys cards.   creativeaddinktionidea1b creativeaddinktionidea1acreativeaddinktioncardidea1

Have you seen this style card before? Not sure of the name of it but something a bit different. Not difficult to make at all.

This card below speaks for itself really – a summer birthday – when the boys were playing cricket. These sets were very handy to have and keep.

A close up on some of the detail for you. The Silver background was using tin foil with the embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by, happy stamping

Masculine Cards

Hi Stampers

Having boys in the house I am always needing masculine cards and here are a couple that I have made for birthdays…

creativeaddinktionred

This was a total copy of a swap that I received from my Upline Vicki, I think I have used her original card as well.

creativeaddinktionsquare

The spotlight technique was one that we did at Stamp Club, Need for speed is the stamp set of choice here again.

creativeaddinktionsplitneg

Okay - I know that this Split negative technique with Lovely as a tree has been done to death but it is still a good fallback when all else fails and your mojo has left the building.

creativeaddinktionneedforspeed Another Need for Speed and spotlight technique card using Tangerine Tango.

Enjoy

Double Dutch Cards

Hi Stampers

I’m liking these Double Dutch cards that are about, I have had a play and here are a couple I have managed to put together.

 creativeaddinktiondoubledutch11

creativeaddinktionmiddle

creativeaddinktiondoubledutchpink

I started with the Double Dutch card and then used the Faux Tile technique using the Simple Scored Tool for the front. This was sponged, before layering and using the Designer Frames Embossing Folder. Using the Extra large Oval punch, punch out the middle and then layered a piece underneath. The paper on the bottom flaps is the Twitterpated. The Stamp Set is the Tea Shoppe set.

creativeaddinktionddutchbaby creativeaddinktionddutchbabya

This was the first attempt, a baby card for Susan who had her second child. I’m not sure of the name of this technique, where I inked up half of the stamp with the ink pad in one colour and then used a second colour and inked up the other half of the stamp. I used the ink pads instead of markers.

Enjoy, thanks for stopping by today

Slit latch card

Hi Stampers

A while back a friend gave my boys a gift card and had make a Slit latch Gift card holder that you can find the instructions for on Splitcoaststampers. I like the way it closed and thought that I would have a play. I dropped the Gift card holder part and just went for the card – well wouldn’t you know it I saw it on another blog – same idea. If I blogged regularly then maybe i could start a trend but not to be this time. Here are a couple of cards I made using the idea. creativeaddinktionslc2 creativeaddinktionslc1 creativeaddinktionslc3

So this card above was for Alistair’s birthday a few month back, the words are embossed with the Tempting Turquoise emboss powder.

creativeaddinktionslgc1 creativeaddinktionslgc2 creativeaddinktionslgc3 This is the girls version with the pinwheel. Very cute.

This is a very easy style of card to recreate. Enjoy playing.

Catch up cards

Hi Stampers

I have a busy month planned ahead so I thought I would take a minute or two and do a blog post. I done a few projects over the last few months but never seem to get round to posting. Anyway here are a few….

creativeaddinktionrugby

These were for brothers whom had there party together, both boys played rugby and cricket so the best of both worlds are combined here.

Creativeaddinktionboyinvite

My now 9 year son designed his birthday invites this year, based on the All Blacks everything was black and white

creativeaddinktiontwisttopboxboy creativeaddinktionbdayruga creativeaddinktionbdayboy

This tri fold card and twist top box were thrown together for a friend of the boys. We travelled to Toko for this celebration and had the best day.

creativeaddinktionsidestepboy

This side step card was for a boys 7 year old party. Very cool the way this card design has grown.

Thanks for stopping by.

Fathers Day Cards

Hi Stampers

Fathers day was last weekend and these were the cards that I made for the Dads

creativeaddinktionmale1 This first one was for my hubby from the kids – this is the type of tool chest he uses when working on his race car.

creativeaddinktionmale2

This tool box was for my dad – even after all these years I still think of him as a builder come handyman – now he is more of the office type. creativeaddinktionmale3 This next one here was for my FIL who has the odd classic car – this was the very first time I got to use this set before it retired.

creativeaddinktionmale4acreativeaddinktionmale4b

And for the golfer in the family this one went to my step dad

I think all of these were inspired from cards I saw on Splitcoast stampers – I think. I had been searching for a link for the tool box cards on an earlier post here and found all these designs as well.

Thanks for looking, happy stamping
