Heat Felt Event – Heat Tool

Hi Stampers

The ‘Scented Emboss Powder’ was available to play with and by now you probably have as well. So these following projects were all about the scent which you won’t get through the screen here, lol, but I’m sure you get the idea.

These two were scented with the ‘Sugar and Spice’

creativeaddinktionheattoolscented1creativeaddinktionheattoolscented2

These next two were scented with the ‘Peppermint Sticks’.

So the ‘Peppermint Sticks’ scented Emboss Powder has some quality issues right now and if you are unsatisfied with your purchase of the Peppermint Sticks Scented Embossing powder then please contact your demonstrator for a refund or to exchange it for a different scented Stampin’ Emboss powder.

Thanks for stopping by.

Heart Felt Event – Heat Tool

Hi Stampers

The Heat Tool is a tool that you just need to have as it offers you a whole world of techniques.

For this next project I used the  Bigz Snow Furry Die (127813) from the Seasonal Catalogue, I cut out 1 large Snow Flurry and 2 of the others using the On Board sheets (114320). I then covered with VersaMark (102283) and covered with Silver Emboss powder (109131)and heat set with the Heat Tool. There are 3 layers on each Snow flurry. I put together the layers using Dimensionals (104430) and for added colour I went with Cherry Cobbler cardstock and bakers twine.

On the end circles of the lager snow flurry I used Dazzling details (124117). At the last minute when everything was assembled I decided to emboss the Pearl (119247) in the centre with Cherry Cobbler Emboss Powder (122949) so I pressed the Pearl into the VersaMark and then dipped into the Cherry Cobbler emboss powder then heat set with the Heat Tool. I should really have removed the Pearl to emboss  but I didn’t and it shows on the final product.

You can change the colour of the Pearls by using any of the coloured Emboss Powders on page 159 of the Annual Catalogue

Heart felt Event – Heat Tool

Hi Stampers

Moving right along to the next technique ‘Faux Alligator skin’, so this technique has been around for ages, but it is the first time I tried it, I cut out this cute little purse in Basic Black using the Bigz Petite Purse Die(125606), before putting it together covered it with Versa mark (102283) and clear Emboss powder (109130). Using your bone folder (102300) I drew a pattern in the emboss powder before heat setting it with the Heat Tool.

To finish of the purse I added Designer Series paper, Be of Good Cheer(126896),to the handle and the inside flap of the purse, the rhinestone jewels(119246) dome the side and across the top of the flap, added a little paper bow and, used the Metallic brads(119741) to attach the handle and finally a little bit of bakers twine(123125) to the handle.

So what to use now that the powder Pals have retired from Stampin’ Up!? Plastic containers with lids is a popular choice, have a search through your kitchen cupboards and you may find some containers you already have

Heart Felt Event – Heat Tool

Hi Stampers

Page 159 of the Annual catalogue is the page that gives you a whole lot of products that help you utilise your Heat Tool that much more.

This next project is a little time consuming, Heat Embossing on glass. Here I have used the Cherry Cobbler Emboss powder direct to a glass jar. My big tips for doing this technique are - use your embossing buddy all over the jar, use a bold image and ensure that lid is not on the jar when heating glass. I personally did find any difference using a ‘wood mounted’ or ‘clear mounted’ or even ‘unmounted’.

Page 159 is where you will find the Cherry Cobbler Emboss Powder (122949) and the Embossing Buddy (103083) this project also used the Crochet Trim (118481), Old Olive Scallop Dots Ribbon (124139), Scalloped Tulle Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler (127841) and Antique Brad (117273). I made the label using the Ornament punch (119847), Cherry Cobbler card stock and Whisper White cardstock and the Vintage Trinkets (118764).

‘SU’ Heart Felt Event - Auckland

Hi Stampers

I was asked if I would demonstrate a product at Auckland's Heart Felt Event on the 15th September held by Stampin’ Up! Yay for me and I chose the Heat Tool. I had to have a play and create some samples to show other demonstrators what the heat tool could do. Wow, once you start looking and playing the ideas are endless and producing samples was easy – it was deciding when to stop that was the difficult part.

So I thought that you may want to take a look at the samples that I created and displayed, I will post over a couple of post so that you don’t get to bored in one sitting. There might not be anything new to you but it is a great reminder just how versatile the Heat tool is.

So starting with the candle – this was the first time I had tried this technique, had heard about it, seem samples on blogs but now was my turn to give it a go.

Yes it is very easy, stamp an image on a piece of tissue. I used Stazon, I coloured with ink and aqua brush, separated the tissue layers and cut round image, you can be a fussy as you want but I more projects i created the less fussy I became. Grab some baking paper (wax paper), long enough so tat it wraps completely round the candle, take your piece of stamped tissue and lay on candle, move into preferred position, place the baking paper round the candle and pinch close with your fingers making sure that the paper is tight against the candle, using your heat tool wave it over the area where the stamped imaged is all the time keeping the baking paper tight. You will see a change take place, the pressure from the baking paper should push the image into the melting wax of the candle, embedding the image and keeping the shape of the candle.

 creativeaddinktionheattool1  creativeaddinktionheattool2

These two candles were smaller approx 10cm in height. Whereas the candle below is much larger standing at 15cm. The smaller ones i used Stazon and then coloured and on the large one I coloured using markers direct to the stamp and in this case the stamp is Flowering Flourishes (126365)on page 121 of the Annual Catalogue. I added pearls (119247) to the candle and to the strip of Midnight Muse cardstock (127546), the ribbon is Gumball Green (126848)

Nice and easy, give it a go, I brought the smaller candles at the Warehouse and Spotlight and purchased the larger one on sale at Farmers so shop around for the best deal. These are a lovely little gift to give.

Another bag tag

Hi stampers

Here is one more bag tag from Jo at stamp club. This was the challenge for last month.

Jo is a red person so it really is no surprise that her tag is red. Lots of the Rhinestone jewels on the ‘J’ and the ‘O’.

Slit latch card

Hi Stampers

A while back a friend gave my boys a gift card and had make a Slit latch Gift card holder that you can find the instructions for on Splitcoaststampers. I like the way it closed and thought that I would have a play. I dropped the Gift card holder part and just went for the card – well wouldn’t you know it I saw it on another blog – same idea. If I blogged regularly then maybe i could start a trend but not to be this time. Here are a couple of cards I made using the idea. creativeaddinktionslc2 creativeaddinktionslc1 creativeaddinktionslc3

So this card above was for Alistair’s birthday a few month back, the words are embossed with the Tempting Turquoise emboss powder.

creativeaddinktionslgc1 creativeaddinktionslgc2 creativeaddinktionslgc3 This is the girls version with the pinwheel. Very cute.

This is a very easy style of card to recreate. Enjoy playing.

Stamp Club Challenge for December

Hi Stampers

This year we tried something a little different and made Secret Santa gifts, it was so secret that nobody knew who they were making their gift for. It worked out really well and here are the creations. I will show you the second nights projects next.

creativeaddinktion11.20

This was Wendy’s gift – Wendy was in the middle of shifting house and her DH packed away her stamping things – how dare he when he was to specifically told to leave it ……… perhaps he didn’t hear her. The thought was there and that is all that anyone could wish for.
